How to read this. Each month's volume is Google's monthly search estimate for the keyword. The typical year compares every month with the average month of the same year, so growth or decline does not hide the shape, then takes the middle value across all complete years. A month above 1 is in season. Increase starts is the first month demand rises a quarter of the way from its low point to the peak, measured on a log scale so short, sharp seasons are caught early. Data comes from a third-party SEO data provider. Each month arrives a few weeks after it ends, so the latest month shown is behind today.
